Our Vestry

St. James’s is supported by an active, engaged Vestry of passionate parishioners who dedicate their time and talents to our community’s spiritual and operational health. Our Vestry represents a rich tapestry of our parish—bringing together people of different generations, career paths, and life experiences. Whether they have called St. James’s home for decades or just a few years, each member brings a unique voice to our shared mission.

Pillars of St. James's

Purpose of Vestry

The Vestry consists of lay people elected by St. James’s to serve as the governing board, partnering with our Rector to lead the parish in both spiritual growth and practical administration. A new group of members is elected at each annual congregational meeting in February. Prior to the annual meeting, the Senior Warden forms a nominating committee including three other members of Vestry and three parishioners. We ask for nominations from the parish in our weekly communications. To be considered, you must be a communicant in good standing (confirmed), and “known to the Treasurer” as a donor.

If you are interested in learning more, please contact the Senior Warden below.

Vestry Minutes

Minutes are an official record of actions the Vestry took at their monthly meeting, not a record of everything that was said. They serve a historical purpose, but just as important, they serve a legal purpose, documenting the Vestry’s adherence to the proper procedures and bylaws of St. James’s Episcopal Church.

Copies of the minutes are posted on this page when they are made available.
