Sunday Formation

During the program year (September through May), we offer Formation for all ages between 9:00 and 9:45 am. Adults meet in Valentine Hall, located on the 1st floor of Michaux House.

Children are welcome to attend Sunday School on the 2nd floor of Michaux House.

Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF) is for all youth in grades 6-8. They meet on the 3rd floor of Michaux House, room 304. Senior Youth Fellowship (SYF) is for all youth in grades 9-12. They meet in room 302.

We offer care for infants and toddlers in our nursery, located just off the sanctuary, between 8:30 and 11:30 am. Ushers will be glad to guide you. During the 10:00 service, children will be invited to follow the cross to Children’s Chapel after the Gospel reading and will return to their families during the peace. We also invite children to come and sit near the altar rail for a closer view as we begin the Eucharistic prayer.

Join us for Coffee & Fellowship in the Parkinson Room (located beneath the sanctuary) after the 10:00 service.

All of our services are family-friendly. Wear what you like and sit where you like. Stand and kneel and sing and pray, or just sit quietly and let the experience of worship wash over you. Whoever you are and wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome at St. James’s.

Learn More About Our Tradition

There are two options for free parking: a four-story garage and a small surface lot, both with reserved spaces for those with accessibility needs. The entrances to both are just past the intersection of West Franklin and Birch Streets. The surface lot (on the same side of the street as the church) also offers an accessible walkway to the Michaux House, where we offer classes and fellowship. The route from either lot into the church is fully accessible via flat curbing and a wheelchair ramp to the front entrance of the church. From the parking garage, please use the designated walkway to cross West Franklin Street.
